Braving the elements, 6 hardy Monday hikers hiked the Rogue River Trail on the west side of Lost Creek Lake. After some confusion about the trail head we started further along than usual. That allowed us to hike all the way to the Blue Grotto and back. It rained most of the time and we hiked through and around some water and mud but with no real problems.
Nanci, Traci and Rich earned extra credit for hiking down to the waterfall and behind it. Elliot redeemed himself in dispelling any suggestion of his being a fair weather hiker. Between this hike and the Lower Rogue he has indeed proved his mettle.
There were flowers a plenty which were duly photographed.
The heavens opened as we left and we dried out at Wild Wings with good libations and fries.
It was a good hike despite the weather and seeing the grotto was a real treat for those visiting it for the first time.
